Character looks pretty dope! slight tweak in light and dark areas to make things more clear will help with the volume!

Crits for the pirate:

Always get the shadows consistent. Sometimes you use soft shadows, sometimes hard shadows. Can't have both, gotta pick one and stick with it.

Design is all good, but I didn't even notice at first that she was a woman, and lol'd after I noticed that the character has titties. So I would emphasize her femininity more, give her a more feminine face, less extravagant earrings, definitely normal ears, bigger boobies.

Oh shit! All right!

Pff, she a foken pirate, not a Victorias secret model :^D She is quite masculine for a reason, and I'm gonna keep it thay way - wether it is easy to distinquish her sex or not. She still has some birthing hips, lady legs, semi feminine face and boobs.

Trying to paint a portrait of my buddy. Only about 45 mins of painting, made some nice line-art under it first, so big WIP. Gonna continue tomorrow if I have time. Should paint my mom a painting for wednesday :^(

I like your bird character, maybe push it's caricature more, as I'm not getting as much personality as it could have.

Very cool work dude! keep pushing hard! just wanted to drop by and say something i noticed regarding your light in your concept at the top of the page,

Image

Overall i would just say try to focus more on which surface your light hits and which color the light has
it hope it helps!

Really nice drawings here! Overall nice anatomy, proportions are looking good. That being said, your paintings would really benefit from some experimentation with brush strokes. The brush strokes in your work feelunintentional -- they seem loose, which can be a good thing, but it seems like you're not thinking about how the edges and textures of the brush strokes affect the painting as a whole, adding emphasis to certain areas while removing it from others.

That being said, there are some pieces here that conversley feel over rendered, over textured, or over smoothed; it seems like you're not sure which effects you want to achieve when you paint. Take a look at some masters (old or new) and see how they did or do texture, considering which textures are effective for communicating which surfaces and lighting conditions. Might be helpful to do studies of master works as well, trying to emulate the brush strokes of paintings you like. Hope that helps, keep up the cool drawing work :D

LOVE the variety of faces and figures in here, I imagine that wide range of studies is why many of your ideas look very interesting to me hard for me to critique, honestly. Just keep on coming with the art, its good stuff.

Haha big thanks! :^D appreciate the kind comments :3 I think the fact that I focus a lot on line drawing it makes my own ideas look really 3D:ish even without colors. I'm atm trying to get the crane painted, but it's a pain in the ass. ;_;

Been doing some quick studies lately which look pretty much like dog poo, so I don't feel like posting them - but now I started my next big study. Tought that i should hit the difficulity level up a bit, so I'm doing a League of Legends splash art of Lee Sin as a study. Hope I learn some neat shit. :^)
