Pretty neat and welcome yo. It's a great place to learn here so you'll fit right in. It seems you struggle quite a bit with line confidence so check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgDNDOKnArk Peter Han's warm ups really help out for increasing your dexterity. Good luck, and remember to study those fundamentals!

Thanks AmmoBot-HB for the video! Yes I do seem to have an issue with getting the correct line in. These seem to be really good warmups. My dexterity is better on paper so my lines tend to look better on paper than on the tablet. Should I be practicing more on a tablet?

Thanks Palladium! I think permanoobs is great ^-^

Hi!
Yes, great study!
also, for your figures studies, maybe try to be cleaner/accurate. no need to make too much lines (like Ammobot said)
Good luck!

Wow, those eyes. Love the colour!!

For your figures, may I suggest looking at Steve hustons or Glenn Vilppu's drawings and demos?

this is a link i've been watching recently!! i find it very helpful.
Try to work on your gesture and form as well as anatomy! Observe how great animators especially approach getting action and life in their figures, but how they manage to economise their lines and keep a flow in their drawings.

Keep it up!! hope to see moreeeee ^_^

nice armour study nyatalie, i like that you're really bold with the values :3 metal gives me sooo much trouble as well

I think you could really go in and harden some of those edges, that would make it look a lot less blurry and kinda separate the forms! for the flowers as well, some of the flowers are blending into each other, dont be afraid to take your time and separate the forms with values and edges ^^

I like the armor study Nyatalie, though I think you're missing some of the specular reflections (brightest areas).

Wow, these are looking great! Especially loving those gesture drawings. I am noticing that often the symmetry in your portraits is a little off, it might help to flip the canvas every now and then to check it. Keep up the cool work!

Haha charcoal can be a dirty motherfucker, but your studies aren't half bad, in spite of that. I think you need to take the time to construct a little more before moving on to the shadows and whatnot next time, will make it a lot easier to land all the shapes in the right places.

Good work so far, keep at it:D

Welcome to Permanoobs Natalie, this is my first forum too! :D You are studying the right kind of stuff... head construction, still life, all of that is good. And It is good to see you are doing some traditional drawing. Keep up the good work, and keep posting!

Oh, and I'd suggest is to keep the width of your artwork not too wide. It goes right off of people's screens, and it is hard to see all your studies and paintings when they are like that (and if you are wondering why I'm saying this when I did the same thing on my SB, it is 'cause I was too lazy to resize and one of my art buddies told me that my stuff was getting hard to see... :^D). It is best to keep everything on the screen if you can.
