Hincor Sketchbook - slow & steady

Postby hincor » Mon Mar 13, 2017 9:13 am

I'm a 19 year programmer at heart. I enjoyed drawing, but didn't enjoy spending my free time on it. So I haven't drawn for 3 years.

Got mood swings for something new, so:
1. Nothing is worse than doing nothing;
2. Whatever I do now can't be the same as before;
3. If I got time to watch youtube, and design cinema, I got time to draw;
4. Art is more mechanical than thought, still needs thinking, but can listen to music;
5. It's not school, You don't have to complete, You have to improve! Feel free to spend days with critical eye.

Reboot, slow and steady (now, several days, looser with angle) Clear proof time is everything. ^^

Hey man great start. It looks like you like doing perspective heavy subjects. I recommend these 3 books: Andrew Loomis Successful drawing, Scott Robertson How to Draw and Vanishing point by Jason Cheeseman. Those 3 will teach you everything you need about perspective. If you have questions about man made stuff fire away!

Crankshaft - Hi, thanks for coming by! Yeah, though objects are probably what I'm best at. Thanks for recommendations, will look into the books and perspective from artistic side. I enjoy some reading.

The real challenge is drawing living beings, one of two weaknesses, i have avoided it forever!

Welp! When you don't know where to start, you just have to flat out start, and eat it!

At first was seeing what i can do, had a laugh, then bit of Hampton gestures, questioning what i'm even doing!

I guess it's to practice drawing lines, since all lines I draw are sketched, and why the filled ones look better, because curves of shape can be added up incrementally.

Still, is it even real to draw a figure out of non-sketched, non-erased lines?! And do I stop and think for 10 sec for each line, or just draw them randomly?! :S

The purpose of this was to practice using them B graphites, oh and ruin my eraser with scissors! xD I mean what kind of cat doesn't have whiskers?!
Had white pencil lying around, that thing still seems completely useless.

Ears drawn without eraser, being white, and drawing dark lines and filling a bit of grey value.
