Hi CGAddict!

Not bad. From what I can see, I think your weak point is overusing soft edges. Try to implement more sharp edges for subject matter that's in the foreground and soft edges for stuff you want to recede in the background. You can also use sharper edges in places where you want more focus.

An alumni from the Florence Academy of Art taught me what they call "lost edges." They use sharper edges and higher contrast in values in places where they want to come forward, and softer edges and similar values for places that will recede into the background. It creates a more convincing sense of depth that way.

Keep it up! Cheers. :)

OrochiG: Thanks; Regarding the edges, I tend to paint everything with a hard edged brush first, then I soften out all the brushwork with a soft airbrush. I like the technique you approached regarding the edges, I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks for your input!

......

I updated this thread with a new image, 'Aprhrodite'. Had a blast working on it, a big thank you to all members who helped me out in the Sketchbook/WIP thread, got a lot of great input there so I'm very thankful.
